Marra- Black and Tan GSD

Marra came into my life when she was 4 months old. I was at a small dog show MI and stopped by the German Shepherd booth. I was talking to some of the people and petting their dogs. One of the ladies knew the breeder I got Reuben from. She also had a couple of German Shepherds from the same breeder. We traded phone numbers and
promised to keep in touch. A while later her and her husband came over for a visit. At the time I was into raising ferrets for show and pets and working on getting them a legal pet in Michigan. She fell in love with some of my ferret babies. She said I have some puppies at home that are about 4 months old would you be interested in trading a trio of ferrets for a puppy?
I just had Reuben at the time and the thought of a puppy appealed to me. I thought about it and said yes we can do that. So she picked out the baby ferrets and then setup a time for the next day for me to bring the ferrets over and to see the puppies.
Marra was a sweet girl but very shy. Her and Reuben became friends and she grew up into a pretty girl. When Marra was 3 years old I bred her to Reuben for a litter of puppies. She had 8 beautiful puppies, 3 girls and 5 boys. As I cared for Marra and her puppies I ended up getting attached to one of the boys. He was an out going puppy and had nice conformation to him. I ended up keeping him. I named him Valcore.
After the litter of puppies I decided to get Marra spayed and just enjoy her as a companion. She always had problems with ear hematoma’s. We were at the vet several times due to the ear hematomas.
I lost Marra at only 8 years of age. Her legs would totally fall out from under her and she could not stand. I tried several options in working with my vet, but it got so she could not go out and go potty with out falling.
